SCUDO featured on Rijkswaterstaat’s official website
Rijkswaterstaat – the executive agency of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management – has published a dedicated page about SCUDO on its official website, highlighting the Amsterdam use case as a key example of the project’s work.

Rijkswaterstaat manages the Netherlands’ national road and waterway network and operates under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. As one of Europe’s most respected infrastructure authorities, its decision to feature SCUDO publicly reflects the project’s relevance beyond the academic community – reaching the practitioners and policy-makers who will ultimately act on its findings.
“Gaining insight into the future resilience of the transport system around Amsterdam – especially from the perspective of extreme weather – helps ensure that Rijkswaterstaat’s networks remain safe and accessible in the years ahead.” Rijkswaterstaat, official project page
The Amsterdam use case, carried out in partnership with Rijkswaterstaat and Vervoerregio Amsterdam, studies how extreme weather events can disrupt the city’s transport network. Using innovative computer modelling and real-world data, the team is developing tools to help authorities anticipate disruptions and maintain safe, reliable mobility.
For a Horizon Europe project still in its early stages, this kind of institutional recognition carries real weight. It signals the project’s connection to real-world decision-making in one of its core use case regions.
