SCUDO’s partners gathered in Brussels for a technical workshop and its second consortium meeting

Day 1

The first day commenced with a welcome address from Eusebiu Catana, the project coordinator, who outlined the objectives of the meeting.

The focus of the morning sessions was on “WP1: Set the Ground, Requirements and KPIs”, with updates from key project members:

  • Francesco Bruzzone from the University of Venice (IUAV) provided an update on the Status Quo Map and the ongoing Literature Review
  • Shadi Sharif Azadeh from TU Delft briefed attendees on the progression of Deliverable D1.1, covering both the Literature Review and Status Quo Map Report
  • Hamza Begic from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) presented the analysis of the impact of disruptive changes on various socio-economic groups at the EU level, highlighting the main sources being consulted

An in-depth discussion took place among partners on the project measures relevant to assessing the resilience of transport systems in each use case.

The morning wrapped up with a discussion launched by Ertico regarding public engagement.


In the afternoon, discussions turned to WP2, WP3, and WP4:

  • Konstantinos Gkiotsalitis from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) presented on the planned activities in “WP2: Sense – Sensing and Monitoring Solutions”, addressing potential challenges in data collection
  • Hamza Begic from TUM gave an overview of “WP3: Predict – Forecasting Solutions”, outlining the next steps for this work package
  • Shadi Sharif Azadeh and Aida Bitaraf from TU Delft provided a progress update on “WP4: Proact and React – Robust and Resilient Interventions”

Day 2

Day two of the workshop began with “WP7: Disseminate and Scale-up”, led by Leonor Vilar and Josipa Dias from INOVA+, who organized a session of recordings and photographs.


The first presentation of the day was by Serafeim Zormpas from FrontierInnovations, who led a dynamic group activity. The team was divided into three groups, each rotating through different stations to brainstorm ideas and expectations for the future SCUDO’s pan-European platform.
Following this, Ralf Willenbrock from ERTICO gave an overview of the planned activities for WP6: Use Case Rollout and Validation.

After a lunch break, Leonor Vilar and Josipa Dias returned to summarize the actions taken in WP7, including the strategy behind these and future initiatives and to highlight next steps.

The meeting wrapped up with a presentation from the project coordination team, led by Eusebiu Catana from ERTICO, providing a comprehensive overview of activities under WP8: Project Management.

Looking Ahead
The workshop and consortium meeting offered valuable insights and laid the groundwork for the progression of the SCUDO project. The partners are now more aligned than ever to move forward with the next phases of the project, working towards delivering innovative solutions for the transport sector.
